Great mower for a decent price!
I upgraded to the S220 from an older model that couldn't handle my 1.5 acres anymore. The 22 HP V-Twin engine is a beast, handles thick spring growth without bogging down. The 42" Accel Deep deck gives a really clean cut and the bagging is much better than my old machine. I've got some uneven spots and it handles those hills just fine. Starts right up every time. Dependable and strong
Been using this S220 for a full season now on my 2 acres, which includes a pretty big sloped section. The V-Twin has plenty of power for the mulching kit I added, and the 42" Accel Deep deck really does a great job of lifting the grass for an even cut. Bagging is super efficient, which is a big help in the fall with all the leaves. My old tractor used to clump but this one distributes everything nicely. John Deere really knows how to build 'em.

Good performance, solid mower
Moved into a house with a larger yard, about an acre and a quarter, and needed something reliable. The S220 fit the bill. The 22 HP engine starts easily and has enough power for my lawn. I appreciate the 42" Accel Deep deck, it seems to cut very well and evenly. I mainly bag my clippings and it works great, no clogs even with wet grass. Handles Florida turf great
